The Great Gate.

According to existing temple records, the Great Gate was rebuilt in 1695. However, the "Report on Historical Buildings in Sakai" published by the City Educational Board offers more details. Apparently, the current Great Gate, which is a large type of Yakuimon (a gate whose main pillar is supported by two other pillars, covered by a gabled roof) was rebuilt in 1850 and is representative for the architectural style of the late Edo period.
